Ghost Finishing School is Roberts’s second solo exhibition with Pusher. The show presents drawings, paintings, and sculptures produced over the past two years in Lewisham, that have evolved in relationship with each other and will be exhibited in groups. In Ghost Finishing School, painting acts as an equivalence for memory: aiming towards social documentary but filtered through Roberts’ own subjectivities.
Elliot Roberts graduated from The Ruskin School of Arts, Oxford, in 2023. He is a painter whose work is often diaristic and representational whilst simultaneously being engaged in a dialogue with materials, and contemporary production. This is seen through work that utilises found objects and fabrics to make earnest, fanciful or scrappy attempts at something beautiful.
